People often ask how the images are created. They are not straight from the camera in any way. They are highly manufactured - this is what the old school calls cheating.

I often join two pictures together to create a square format. This has advantages; the pixel count becomes the original width squared and two different exposures can be made to compensate for a wide dynamic range. The downside is that stitching software rarely does what I expect so I end up spending time joining the exposures 'by hand' which takes patience.

I work in the square format all the time and find it difficult to shake off. A large format camera would be great - all my photo heroes used one.

Maybe one day.....
