I had time to draw in Newark. I made a drawing from observation in ink on rough brown paper. Having got as far as I could I photographed the drawing on the iPad and then added to it using Procreate. This allowed me to add to the composition, to add colour, and at various times to cut and resize areas that were out of proportion. The end result has grown from the original ink work but still retains some aspects of it.

Sketchbook pages from my time at Cheltenham college of Art (c.1977) . I came across this small sketchbook the other day – the memories come back but it was oh so long ago!
The drawings seem quite assured to me now when I remember the callow 21y old who made them.
This is my card to send to artist David Sandum in Norway for his ‘twitterart’ project to raise money for children’s books at his local library. If you don’t know about it read here but get your skates on or there won’t be time!
